1 ½tablespoonscornstarch dissolved in 2 tablespoons water
1tablespoonchopped green onion
1tablespoonfinely chopped carrot
1 ½tablespoonsfinely chopped mini sweet or red bell pepper
Instructions
In a small saucepan, bring the following to a boil: the water, onion, garlic, sugar, vinegar, fish sauce, salt, and white pepper. Adjust the heat to simmer for 5 minutes. Give the cornstarch slurry a stir then stir the pot while adding the cornstarch.
When thickened, take off heat and stir the green onion, carrot, and sweet pepper. Let cool for 10 minutes, uncovered, then taste and adjust the sweet, sour and salty with sugar, vinegar or salt. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.
